Thursday evening I was startled by a knock at the door. I had just received word that my grandmother had passed away. Amid my grief, I needed a few moments to determine who this young lady at my door was.
It was Ashley. One of my brides. Of course I was aware of my impending wedding that very weekend but at that moment it was quite far from my mind.
I'd had a wonderful visit with Ashley and her mom about a month back to go over the details of the big day. We had had some correspondance and also become Facebook friends which can sometimes give great insight. I knew as she stood in my doorway that I would have a great distraction from the sad events that would soon follow.
And what a wonderfully fun group they all were. Up for any and all of my crazy ideas. The rain held off just as we needed it to as well. The best end to a wonderful wedding season.
